We just got the 1490t and took a 400 mile trip. We stopped for lunch, turned the Garmin off and when we came back a half hour later to start again, the route that I had programmed was gone. It did the same thing when we stopped for dinner. Doesn't this unit hold the route that is programmed and it is following after it is shut off and turned back on?

I don't know as I've only used mine for 3 weeks. Perhaps using "recent" to reprogram is an option?
I really like mine except for the failure to pick up my phone contacts every time.

Just checked mine, and it DOES NOT lose the route on shutdown (5 minutes or so).
