Etrex Vista HCX upload errors

Hi,

Don't know if anyone else is having this issue but I have started using an Etrex Vista HCX on my bike instead of my Edge 305. I am riding the same route I always have (to work and back) but when I upload the tracks from the VISTA it keeps putting in speed spikes (60-65mph) into the route. This ONLY happens when I use the UPLOAD button. If I save the files from the GPS into GPX format and manually load them the speeds are correct.

The manual process is a bit laborious so I'd rather not do it, is there a simple fix for this?

BTW the actual GPS unit is showing a MAX speed of 36.4mph so the data is correct on the unit, correct in the GPX export but the Garmin Connect UPLOAD is screwing it somehow!

Thanks

Rob

    Hi Rob -

You mentioned that if you "save the files from the GPS into GPX" and import manually, it works. Are the files in a different format initially on the device (.fit, .tcx)?

If you could attach any files (original if in a different format, plus the .gpx), I can take a look some time and see if I can see what's going on.

    Thanks

Don't know what format they exist on the device. I can export the traklog as a GPX onto the SD card or use Garmin Basecamp to pull them from the device and save as GPX. Either of these formats works perfectly when manually uploaded to Garmin connect.

The 'auto' upload loads everything perfect except the max speed, almost every upload seems to spike with a massive speed!!!

I'm not too bothered, I can manually change the MAX speed to be right, just wondered if others had this issue.
