hi. i've been using garmin connect since i got an edge 500 in july 2010. since then i've uploaded plenty of bike rides. but starting at some point after october 14th i've been unable to upload any new .fit files to garmin connect. every time i try to upload a .fit file i get the following error message:
We don't support the file type you tried to upload.
i've tried uploading 6 new .fit files from rides, and i've also tried uploading old .fit files that previously uploaded successfully. all generate the same error. note that i'm running solaris + firefox 3.6.10, so the garmin connect browser plugin isn't available and i always use the manual upload mechanism where i can select a local file from my system to upload. to make sure this isn't a solaris problem i also tried the manual upload option on windows 7 system with firefox 3.6.8 (once again without the garmin connect plugin installed), and i see the same failure there.
a while back there was a banner at the top of garmin connect stating that there was a known uploading problem. this banner coincided with the start of my upload failures. that banner recommended clearing the brower cache/cookies, which i did, to no avail. that banner has since disappeared but my problem persists.
i searched the boards for any mention of this issue but i didn't see it. if i've missed something the sorry for the extra noise.
