Report Categories

I am probably missing something obvious, but is there a way to view reports for all "Running" or all "Cycling"? When I select "Running, I only get events that are specifically set as "Running" and not "Trail Running", "Treadmill Running", etc.

It appears that Trail Running and Treadmill Running are sub-categories of Running when you look at the categories, but apparently that's not the case.

Specifically, I want a report for all running miles (any type of running) for each week. But, generally I'm just curious how this works. Any ideas would be welcome.

I think that the only solution is for Garmin to program it to work that way.

The dropdown selection list shows everything as categories and sub-categories, so one should expect the report program to function accordingly.

I think that it's an oversight in initial development that didn't ever get addressed and corrected. If you email your issue to Customer Support, they are likely to forward your email to the Garmin Connect team for followup. They've done that for me with another issue.

That's a good idea. I will send an email to them and see where it goes.
  • Sub-categories not reporting correctly

I totally agree. This would seem to be an obvious error on Garmin's part. Surely if you want to track how many miles you have run you'd like to be able to select one report which shows all sub-categories and a total. Currently I have to add these up manually or leave everything with a category of 'running' which is hardly the level of detailed analysis I want.

Can you solve this issue please Garmin? Thanks.
