The Garmin connect site freezes on my laptop while reviewing an activity. As I move around in GC it locks up my computer. Only fix is the power button. It happens in IE8 & Firefox. Does not happen in any other site or application. My desktop seems to work fine.
As no resolution to the problem was posted and after searching the forums and Internet to no avail. I am resurrecting this question in the hopes of a response to resolve.
I have had this exact same problem on my laptop for about 5 years. Every year or so I search for an answer online but have yet to find one. I have had three FR60 watches and now a 910XT, I do not have the problem on 4 other computers I use. I do not have this problem with any other application or website.
Operating system version - I had WinXP and Now have Win7
Browser versions - I started with IE7 and now IE9, Primarily use Firefox started somewhere around 3.6 and now on 15.0.1
Adobe Flash version - Been through a lot of version on this one now - Shockwave 11.4
Amount of Memory on laptop - it's a Toshiba Satellite P105-S6104 with 4GB and I think it used to have 2GB.
The lockups only occur when I am in the Details of an activity. There is a lack of response from clicks and about a second later the mouse cursor stops moving and the whole computer locks up. If I am lucky when I notice clicks are non-responsive I can close the browser before the entire system lockup occurs. Ctl-alt-del does not resolve once full lockup, it requires a hard reboot.
Anyone??? Garmin connect locks up - would be really cool if I could use Garmin connect on my primary computer. Are there any Garmin support people monitoring this?
Just to confirm that I have exact same (very unpleasant) situation:
- trying to browse details of activity completely freezes computer (even CTRL-ALT-DEL does not work)
OS: Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1 with all updates and fixes applied
Browsers:
- IE 9 (9.0.8112.16421 / 9.0.12) with Flash 11.5.502.146
- Chrome 24.0.1312.56 m with Flash 11.5.31.137
for Activities or Explore. Pressing the enter key or using the mouse results in nothing. As well, when open Explore, it take me to the Coast of BC, i.e Vancouver, BC, Canada when I am over 700 kilometers away in the interior of BC. Less than a month ago, this function fine, when I opened Explore, it took me to my home area where I usually work out. Are some functions within Garmin Connect just not working right now? I am unable to access any activities that aren't on the first page upon opening the Activity page. Using Chrome, win 7 Flash loaded etc. etc. What is happening? Even tried to log in on this forum but couldn't until I pressed Reply to this thread, then I was prompted to enter my user and password info.
Same problem here with Windows 7 Home Premium in Opera 12.16 as well as Google Chrome 28. The computer freezes completely, only the power button helps.
Garmin freezes up both Safari and Firefox almost ever single time I engage in UPLOAD, often even after I log out, close my browser, restart, log in again and start over. And over and over.
