Garmin, your users deserve a response

Dear Garmin,

Your users have spoken with a unified voice, and I think it merits a response from you to address it.

It's only fair that your users know your intentions to either stay the course with Bing or move back to Google maps, or make it a user defined choice. This will allow us to decide whether to stay with you... or move to a competitor. Saying nothing will probably drive more to the latter.

Please acknowledge your users comments.

bing is totally sucks, please let me choose using google maps or bing.
  • Garmin Note Well

Garmin has just gone from market leader and innovator to FAIL.
What a disgraceful effort replacing google map with this bing cr-p.
I suggest every Garmin user voice disgust in every possible way.
Send emails, phone, post in forums.
I used to recommend garmin, unless this changes, no more.
I really thought my computer was stuffed today until I saw that stupid Bing logo in the corner.
Garmin this is not acceptable. Change it back.
  • I don't really care so much that they changed, and I don't even care that its Bing.

The Problem is, that bing doen't even think the community, roads, buildings, paths where I live and run even exist, nevermind bothered to use an up to date ariel map that had shopping plazas/roads etc that were built in the last 5-10 years on them. So its now useless for me.

    Restore Google Maps!

I completely agree that google maps needs to be restored.

International customers have been screwed big time. The maps on connect are almost useless for us now.

The UK maps are less than useless to be honest. I just open the Google Earth link but it is hassle when the original Google maps were so excellent.

I can't see how it can be anything other than money related... why would you trade in a Ferrari for a mini unless you couldn't afford the petrol or insurance?!

We definetely DESERVE AN ANSWER, WE ARE YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!!

With features such as metabolic profiling that only works with New Leaf; the GC health tab that doesn't support manual entry and only works with a specific Tanita scale; and now the "upgrade" from Google to Bing maps, it is increasingly clear to me that we are not "customers" -- we are "product" to be monetized.

    ya ur right
  • I'll add to the displeasure

I came back from a cycling trip uploaded the results from my 705 and found Bing. The maps and images of the region I was travelling in (Victoria, Australia) are terrible.

I hope Garmin change it to at least enable people to select which is displayed.
