What did you do GARMIN!??? I call out to everyone, to post their disappointment here. Let GAMIN know that they have ruined one of the best features of having a garmin watch. I loved to watch where I had been marching or running, but that is ruined now.

WE WANT GOOGLE MAPS BACK!!!

To the developers:
1. Please explain why you choose to ruin the fun of having a garmin watch?
2. Are you even thinking about changing it back? or will we just have to live with it?

    extremelly disappointed with new maps

The best thing Garmin had to offer was the excellent software for analyzing the activities and the integration with Google Maps.

The new maps being used are terrible. On the area I live they are more than 5 years old and resolution is bad.

Users demand Google maps to be back !!!

Here is an example of why Bing maps do not work

Here is an example of why Bing maps do not work. Zero map detail.

Just when we resigned to the fact that garmin connect would never be as good as the old motionbased they go and make it even worse but switching to bing.

    Epic fail all round
  • I'm pretty disappointed with the switch the Bing from Google Maps, however, given all the other problems I've had with Garmin equipment (the stuff I actually paid for), I'm not all that surprised.

Three months ago I bought a 310XT with "premium" HRM strap, foot pod and bike speed/cadence sensor. In that time I have had numerous problems with the 310XT:
    * Powering off in the middle of a run
    * Powering off at the start of a course (and wouldn't power on without a hard reset)
    * Losing time when the watch is off
    * Switching from metric to statute for the units (without me even doing anything)
    * Continuous errors in GTC
    * Various other problem which required a hard reset (and me having to reenter my settings)

The HRM is already starting to give me spikes in my HR readings

I have already had to have the foot pod replaced due to ridiculous pace data and the replacement already shows the same problems.

Email "Technical Support" are incompetent and don't even understand the products.

The only thing I haven't had problems with is the bike speed/cadence sensor, but then I haven't used it yet.

So... Garmin changing GC from Google Maps to the inferior Bing is just a minor (but equally annoying) thing for me.

I want to add my voice to the thousands who are requesting a change back to Google Maps...

Who decided this change in the first place? Were we notified? Some deal made at the very top, no doubt involving the changing of dollars, and now we just have to put up/shut up with an inferior product?

    Ridiculous.
Expect to lose users in their droves to other, free web-based systems.

Another Garmin Connect user chipping in to moan about Bing. It is a poor substitute to Google. I ride a lot in Spain and the accuracy from my recent trip is rubbish.

Come on Garmin - give us a choice!!
