What did you do GARMIN!??? I call out to everyone, to post their disappointment here. Let GAMIN know that they have ruined one of the best features of having a garmin watch. I loved to watch where I had been marching or running, but that is ruined now.

WE WANT GOOGLE MAPS BACK!!!

To the developers:
1. Please explain why you choose to ruin the fun of having a garmin watch?
2. Are you even thinking about changing it back? or will we just have to live with it?

    Bring back Google Maps!

+1 vote for Google maps. BING = poop.
  • Please, at least let me choose using google maps or bing.
    +1 vote

This is probably the best solution, IMO. Personally, I prefer bing for several reasons, but I like the idea of letting users choose.

One being you would like to stay a moderator here :D.

Joking aside, I will admit Bing is probably very good for people in US cities, but the rest of the world is definitely getting an inferior mapping service.

I sent an email to Garmin and this was their response.

..... and using Bing maps with Garmin Connect provided an opportunity to build upon our existing relationship with Microsoft.

Garmin Connect users will continue to enjoy all of the familiar mapping features and functions that bring more than 40 million saved activities to life, and working with Bing will lead to more exciting developments in the future.

What a joke, why would anyone seriously want to build upon their existing relationship with an inferior product/service ????

Half the trails I cover in Aus are just blank now with "bing frigging deal" maps.

Why on earth would I want to bring 40 million saved activities to life when all I want to do is run great trail and see where I have been ?

Listen to your loyal users Garmin, before someone else does.

They probably don't care at all about their customer relationship. They only care about the cash inflow that probably M$ agreed in order to displace Google Maps. This is just a business unfourtunately :( collateral damages are not considered...

    Bing maps????? please.....come on....

I use my garmin here in Brazil, specially in ilhabela, Sao Paulo, were the maps of the bing dont even have aerial pictures...I dont have to say that google maps have spectacular good photos and maps.
This change is totally unacceptable...when I start using my garmin I was so happy with the support on garmin connect....now everything is so dissaponted.
So like everyone else i'm asking please for google maps again.

+1 to bring Google Maps back.

On my MacBook Pro, Garmin Connect with Google Maps used to be a breeze. Now, it took around 45 seconds the spinning beach ball before the initial map was loaded.

My user experience is severely degraded!
  • Bing???? WHY?

    What Happened?????

Sorry but Bing maps doesn't even show show roads/maps of areas I run in that are 7 or 8 years OLD, Google had it all, bring it back, BING just doesn't cut it.
