Change to Bing maps disappointing

Hello,

I'm disappointed in the switch to Bing maps. The "far" view in both map and ariel is much more distorted than the previous version with google maps. It also seems that the terrain view has disappeared. I assume this was done as a cost saving measure, but from a user perspective, it's a loss of functionality.

However, I still love my garmin as a training tool, and has been helpful in my quest for my first full marathon in early december.

Just had to add my voice to the chorus--Bing is a significant decrease in mapping quality, and I'm now investigating alternatives to Garmin Connect.

And yes, I jointed the Facebook group.

2 days 123 posts and counting. More than to twice as many as the next closest thread in Garmin Connect. hopefully Garmin gets the message. I'm not a MS hater. love W7 but Bing maps are simply lacking.

Also another vote for ridewithgps.com. Pretty cool site that will benefit from this Connect downgrade.

Bring Back Google Maps!!

I am just adding my two cents. Google maps are MUCH better. The interactive options are much better, actually, Bing Maps have NO features. This is such a disappointment! What can we do to get them back??

Bing

I just hope Garmin will listen to it's customers. Probably the whole management of Garmin has followed all kinds of customer focus courses. Let's see if they actually learned something or that being customer focussed is just a hollow statement.

Bing is such a disappointment it's hard to believe Garmin made this change.

so very disappointing....

the bing map is horrible... i'm from the philippines and the google maps show my run route in accurate detail... when i uploaded my run today and saw the change the road map lost 90% of roads and those that appear which are the freeways cut across an area where they are non existent... so so horrible... bring back the google maps! :mad::(:eek:

Another post for Garmin Blog which will not be approved...

This is ridiculous - there have been many comments submitted from users who are disappointed with Bing Maps but you do not approve any of them!! Garmin is making its own bed and will soon have to sleep in it alone when Connect users move to other platforms.

What is Disgrace

Garmin has just gone from market leader and innovator to FAIL.
What a disgraceful effort replacing google map with this bing cr-p.
I suggest every Garmin user voice disgust in every possible way.
Send emails, phone, post in forums.
I use to recommend garmin, unless this changes, no more.
I really thought my computer was stuffed today until I saw that stupid Bing logo in the corner.
Garmin this is not acceptable. Change it back.

You Don't know what your doing!

Whoever made this massive mistake,
Obviously does not use a Garmin.

You should know that Micosloth are always playing catch up
Re- MP3 players, computers, maps etc etc.

They have no philosophy in what they are doing.

I thought Garmin did.
