Change to Bing maps disappointing

Hello,

I'm disappointed in the switch to Bing maps. The "far" view in both map and ariel is much more distorted than the previous version with google maps. It also seems that the terrain view has disappeared. I assume this was done as a cost saving measure, but from a user perspective, it's a loss of functionality.

However, I still love my garmin as a training tool, and has been helpful in my quest for my first full marathon in early december.

Go back to google maps PLEASE

The move to Bing maps is very disappointing. Google maps works so much better and does a much better job. I'm not sure how much Microsoft is paying you to use Bing but I think you've put your interests ahead of your consumers.

    Hidden motive?

Maybe this is Garmin's way of getting us to register in their forums  Because my husband is also registering just to be able to complain about Bing maps.

    Bing in Canada is.....

I don't live in a large city, the Bang maps are very bad for most of Canada.

I hope Garmin would have a more international mind set. There product are for outdoor usage not just for urban area where Bang may be okay.
  • Bang maps are HORRIBLE! Low res in far view, large charge times, some zones appear as blank... You have made the worst thing, if something is working right, why do you break it?
It is a pitty, but bye bye GC, hello again sporttracks.
  • doesn't seem like development

This is a downgrade, surely it's better to add features rather than take them away. more progress and charts in the Reports section would be good, the maps worked fine as they were. Oh well at least we know that someone's still working on things.

    Epic.

    Money :D
  • Bing ???

I've been for three days without connecting to Connect, today I connected and see that was really slow, and then I've seen that maps are from Bing, it seems a joke, I've been using Connect for a long time from MotionBased, Bing is slow, not acurate and hibrid maps, specially in forest and mounatin zones are really bad. I'm very dissapointed.
  • Frustrating and Typical

Never mind us customers here that spread the good word about Garmin and who are starting running and triathlon groups all over the world and want to recommend a good product. No Garmin, you had to sell out and go with Bing who are going to offer you what...a few extra $$ through Microsoft. Bad form, bad bad form. We are your customers....simple Sales 101, don't fix it unless it is broken. It was working great. I am so upset, with a marathon coming up in 2 weeks...this is not making my day at all!
  • Goodbye, Garmin Connect. Switching to Bing maps has convinced me to take my training data elsewhere.
