Files don't transfer to Edge 800 SD card correctly

When I attempt to send a file to my Edge 800's SD card, Garmin Connect creates a GPX folder to contain the file. This is then not seen by the device.

Please note that the SD card is named 'EDGE 800' and the device is named 'GARMIN'.

Before attempting the transfer the SD card looks like this:

Next, I select the SD card:

I get the message "Course Successfully Sent To Device".

The SD card now looks like this:

...and the course cannot be seen on the device.
Sending the same course to the device results in the creation of a FIT file in the New Files folder of the device, not the SD card:

Whilst it's not insurmountable to correct this in the Finder, it is inconvenient and, unless I'm mistaken, a bug.
  • What happens if you manually drag the file to the New Files directory on the SD card and restart the 800? My guess is that the SD card is being treated as a generic Garmin device and has no knowledge it is really an 800.

If I put files onto the card manually everything is fine.

The bug seems to be with Garmin Connect.

Also, I noticed another "feature" related to the micro-sd with my Garmin 800 last night. I had an activity from 11/14/2010 stored on the 800's internal memory. On 11/15/2010 I bought and installed a micro-sd card. I then configured the 800 to use the SD card. Last night after my 11/16/2010 activity I went to upload to Garmin Connect and to Training Center. Neither of them saw the 11/16/2010 activity - they only saw the 11/14/2010 activity.

I don't know if I delete the activity from internal memory if Garmin Connect and Training Center will then look on the SD card for activities or if activities stored on the SD will not automatically be found. I'll do some testing tonight and see what I can come up with.

A friend has the same problem on his Edge 800 unit + Training Center for Mac 3.1.3 : Training Center only "sees" the internal memory of the Edge 800.
