Total 450 lock up

Hi, I bought a Garmin Orgegon 450 this week, and I am already facing a problem.
After using it for a couple of days, it seems like the device has given up. On start up the Garmin logo appears. On the bottom of the screen, it says
Oregon 450
Copyright 2010
Garmin LTD.... etc

And it stays like that. Nothing happens at all. It does not matter if I try starting it with fresh batteries or trying to connect it to my PC.

Are there any sollutions to this problem?

My week old 450 also inoperable

Its been a week today since my 450 arrived and already its out of action with exactly the same problem .
Some body please help us , I was going to use it camping this weekend :(
Now I have a $500+ cake of soap

450 back online

Shortly after I logged a support notice here on the Garmin website , i had a reply with a possible solution to my problem. Press and hold the power button in while running the webupdater to reinstall the software. It worked and i still have all my data onboard. Im not sure why this happened inthe first place but Im back on the trails.
