charging in car, displays connected to computer?

Forgive me first off if this is the wrong forum to post in, new here.

I have an issue, every time my garmin nuvi is plugged in to the car charging, it displays a computer as if it was syncing with my pc.

I found one answer on the internet that simply said it was the 2 of the pins on the mini usb but said nothing on what to do with them and i am wary of that.

Any suggestions?

Are you using a Garmin charging cord in your car?

I was using a generic charging cord and experienced the same problem.

I switched to using the Garmin cord and it works perfectly, as expected. I turn on my ignition and the Nuvi immediately turns on and is ready to use. I think that the difference between the Garmin cord and others is those 2 pins that you mentioned.
