Voice Command activation - 3970

I have recently purchased a 3790T from the middle east with GCC maps and have all language settings to British English.
When I try to use the voice command feature I get the message: Voice command support is not available for british english.
I have tried several languages with the same result.

Is it possible to add voice command though software updates?
Also, any idea why this feature is dependent on location?

Its a know issue but Garmin doesn't seem interested in fixing it.

My 3790 fixed

If you can get past the Garmin "support" folks and to the software people they can send some new ASR (I have no idea what these are) files and make the thing work.

3790 voice command not working

I have the same problem with GCC maps loaded. A response from someone at Garmin wouldn't be too much to expect?
