Defective 62S on-off switch

The on-off switch on my brand new Map62S stopped working after 5 weeks! I was told the switch is back order and it may take until mid November to receive it! And my GPS has already been waiting on the workbench for two weeks...

My retailer told me I was not alone waiting for a switch replacement. So is this a common problem on the 62S? Has anyone else experienced the same thing?
