Unresponsive Nuvi 660

Aloha all-

From one day to the next my 660 just stopped.
It powers up but touch screen will not respond.
I have reset, updated, power button recalibrate, deleted files, refreshed files and every tech-fix there is. I even burned candles and chanted.
There is however MANY forums out there that say this is a factory issue where the flat ribbon connecting the screen just fails from all of the "normal" hot-cold-hot-cold-hot temp changes our Nuvi 6XX series goes through.
Where other models dont have this issue.
Hints, tips, recalls, fixes, repair shops?

Mahalo~

The screen on my nuvi 660 is also not responding to my touches...happened maybe 6 months ago. I wish someone would find a fix for it.

Have you tried turning it on and holding down the power button for about 10 seconds?

I think that will reset it in some way. Just a thought, maybe that will help. When mine was fairly new, I had a somewhat similar issue and the reset helped in my case.

I've tried that, it takes you to the recalibration screen but I can't even recalibrate because my screen is unresponsive to the touch.

I called Garmin's customer service and they know about the faulty screen. They told me at one point (maybe 4-6 months ago) they were issuing refurbished units as a replacement (even if your unit was out of warranty), but now they've run out of replacements and the program is no longer in effect. Needless to say I'm $hit out of luck and my unit is a brick. I think that totally blows, they know about the problem then they should have issued a recall. I own two other Garmin GPS' and was a loyal customer...but not anymore, I'm done with this company for good.

Anyone want to buy a brick with all the awesome accessories (car charger, nice carrying case, suction mount)?
