Laptop with USB 1.0 Not Seeing my 550

Have the Garmin driver installed but still not recognized.

Once plug it into the port unit boots and the connect screen on the unit shows up but then it does a regular load

Have tried Spammer and the USB is found but again a normal boot

Any thoughts appreciated

Does it work from another computer?
if it works on another computer, but not your laptop, then that would be a laptop issue.

If two computers have an issue with the device, try another USB cable, just to rule out the inexpensive parts.
And check your GPS, look at the usb port, and make sure nothing is bent or broken on the connector. Connectors are easy to fix for the manufacturer.

Things which may be a laptop issue:
drivers, software, and the usb port itself.

if the USB port on your laptop has power issues (ie, a failing polyfuse on the 5 volt line), it will communicate with your gps through a powered hub, but not so well through the usb port.
if it's a power fault of the USB port, you might have better luck plugging into another USB port.

    Thanks

Did try your suggestions but still no

Though I can't recall the limit, isn't there a limit that a USB V1 can read? The 550 is 1 Gig

Anyway, also sent a note to Garmin support and when (if) get a reply will post

Finally received reply from Garmin and it does require V2.0+ to make the connect
