How do I split an activity in to two activities?

Greetings

By mistake I have an activity with 2 laps. I would like to convert this into two activites with one lap. How do I do this?

I would also like to delete small parts of an activity at the beginning and the end og an activity. Is this possible?

I am using Edge 705 and Garmin Connect.

Best Regards

I have the same question as Flemming - I have an activity that I would like to split into several activities and trim the beginning and end of each sub-activity.

Any help on this? I made the mistake of getting in my car after a long ride without turning off the Garmin. Now the map shows an extra 10 miles and has really messed up the stats. Does anyone know of a way to simply delete the last 2 laps, or is there a way to split the activity so that I can break the activity into one for "cycling" and one for "driving". I need to send this info to the folks who rode with me.

Please help if you know how to fix this.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Full Disclosure: I'm not a pro, not even an amateur, but I messed around enough for a few hours to combine two files into one. I'm sure it's easy if you know what your doing, but I did not, so reader beware.

First, you want to export your activity into a TCX file to your computer. If you do not have one, download an xml editor, there's several free ones... I used Microsoft's free editor. When you open the file in the xml editor, it will be easy to see how the file works. If you're looking to get rid of data, look for it, delete it, and save it as a newly named file. Then manually upload the new file using garmin connect. One thing I remember getting me stuck was that you have to save the file as ANSI text to get it to upload into GC. Good luck.

Don't forget that you need to adjust the totals at the beginning of the tcx file, or use a program that will recalculated them based on the new set of trackpoints in the file. Neither Garmin Training Center or Garmin Connect will do this.
