I am having problems getting etrex (basic yellow) to connect to my samsung netbook n150 running win xp sp3.
I have tried two serial to usb adapters with no luck. On my desktop I can get the GPS to connect using the serial plug.
On my friends laptop I can connect using the serial to usb so that rules out a faulty GPS and cable.
I have tried various mapping programs including Memory Map and Easy GPS.
On the netbook I can get a position fix and a satellite status so there must be some form of communication. However I cannot download/upload waypoints etc. I have all settings correct ie ports, mode, baud rate etc etc.
Where do I look next
