Time Zone Issue

Not sure if this is an issue with my 405 or Garmin Connect. I am currently in the UAE, and have my 405 set to Muscat time (GMT +4). When I do a run with GPS it registers correctly on CG as "UAE & Oman Time" (see here). But when I just use my footpod while on a treadmill I get my old time zone (Eastern Time (US & Canada) (see here). Any Ideas why this is happening? Any way I can change these times to reflect the correct time?

Mods - can you move this post to the Garmin Connect forum?
  • Bump, this is still happening. Any ideas...??? I thought updating to the 2.7 firmware would've helped, but it did not. And yes, the computer that stores and uploads the .tcx files is set to the correct time zone.
  • I just noticed that mine do that too.

I think that if we run on a treadmill, it doesn't know which time zone we are in since there is no GPS signal and no location information, so it defaults to the timezone in our Garmin Connect display settings preference and calculates the offset from zulu based on that.

I guess the only way to work around this would be that before a treadmill run, we go into the settings and turn off auto time zone and manually enter our actual time zone. I'm not sure if this information would be included in the tcx file or if Garmin Connect would override it.
  • ... so it defaults to the timezone in our Garmin Connect display settings preference ...

Wow, I forgot about those settings. Thanks. I changed it in the preferences on GC. While it didn't change any of my past runs, I am sure it'll change for my future runs.

    Thanks!
