Update to site broke uploads from Chrome

So everything was working fine until the site update this week. Now I can no longer upload using Chrome. Works fine on IE but not Chrome 6. All I get is the upload page with a blank box in the middle and it doesn't launch the Communicator plugin.

Again Chrome and Connect have been playing together great for over a year. I thought updates were supposed to enhance and add features to the site.

Anyone at Garmin want to give me a good reason you are blocking the number three browser in the market?

    I'm having the same problem

    I have a blank upload screen using the latest version of Firefox. Driving me bananas! The update doesn't appear to be working so well for me thus far as I haven't been able to upload any data.....

    I also have the same problem. After this latest upgrade I can no longer upload any data from my Garmin unit to the website. I am using Google Chrome and it has worked perfect until this latest upgrade. Lets see if someone at Garmin can resolve this issue soon!!

    Same here--using Firefox and when I hit upload it goes to a blank screen where the "Select Device" option used to be.

    Exactly the same here:confused:

    In a way I'm glad it's not just me as thought there may be a problem with my 305...slight relief here then ;)
  • I had the same problem with Safari and posted it on the Edge 705 forum. The solution I received was to clear the cache. Uploads worked fine after the cache was cleared. You may want to try that with these other browsers.

    Yah that didn't work for me. Tried both IE and FireFox and still can't upload anything from my Edge 705.

    Chrome and Garmin

    I was just told that Garmin doesn't support Chrome at all...but worse that I had to make Mozilla my default browser or I can't upload my workout data. The (extremely abrasive) customer support guy was lecturing me on Chrome's issues...I don't know - #3 browser been around and stable for years. But my bigger issue is that this is terrible software architecture to require global setting changes to do very simple functions.
  • I'm guessing you mean in terms of Garmin Communicator not working. Install the Use-Agent Switcher extension for Chrome and you'll be set.

    To use it, click on the icon on the page you want to 'imitate' and choose the appropriate browser. I use Chrome on my Macs and choose Safari 4 as the browser. In some cases you cannot lock the switch, but choosing the browser, then refreshing the page sorts that out.

    This also works with the software updates. All other Garmin sites work.

    Maybe Garmin will do something...maybe they won't :eek:
