3790t auto timezone and world clock

After updating my new 3790t ti firmware version 2.50 I've discovered the following issues with setting the clock. Firstly the auto selection on the clock page is greyed out and can't be selected so the local time has to be set manually. This can be difficult as the minutes advance in several minute increments so it is sometimes impossible to set the minutes exactly but I have found if you open the clock page and wait for the time to catch up then you can set the time. The world clock works great except it shows only UTC for all cities selected, except for the local time if you have managed to set it correctly. If you set the time to UTC the device works correctly but I'd prefer to have the local time as this is more useful as well as being able to see the local time in the cities I select on the world clock page. I've reloaded the firmware via the web updater several times, reset the device, done a master reset by going into demo mode and back into operationl mode and several other methods but alas it is all in vain and it looks like I'll be without my GPS for several weeks while Garmin sort it out. I would like to reload the previous firmware but it's not available. If anyone has any bright ideas they would be appreciated.

That is unusual as I'm currently travelling 5.5 time zones away from home and it's still hapilly operating on Automatic. Did you try performing a hard rest of your unit? Be prepared to reload any maps other than the basemap though including POI files as it will restore it back to factory settings/defaults.
  • I've done a master reset several times by touching the corner of the screen, going into demo mode and back out and erasing all user data. I've done this after downloading and installing 2.50 software several times and then having to reload my user data.

Hello, I am experiencing the same issue since my last update of my device.
Have you had a chance to figure out how to solve this issue ?
  • Haven't solved the problem yet. I was waiting for the next software update but I'm getting close to returning it back to the retailer. The problem is I like using the device even though I have this annoying bug and it'll probably take weeks to get repaired.
  • Problem fixed.

As I have a lifetime map update description I recently updated my installed maps and all the problems with the clock and selecting the auto function have all disappeared. There must have been some corruption in the map files. Its a pity that we can't install an earlier version of software or map files as it might have solved my problem a lot earlier.:)
