Downloading tracks from Vista HCX

I have a couple of memorable hike tracklogs on my Vista that I would like to save on my computer before removing them from the Vista. The manual makes no mention of this and when I connect the Vista to my computer I cannot look at the map files let alone download them. Mapsource recognizes the device but says there are no maps, waypoints, routes on it. There are 4 options that it looks for and it says there are none. I downloaded Basecamp which appears to be simply a less functional version of Mapsource, completely useless.

Appreciate any help.

You need to "save" the tracks in the device and then connect the device to the PC. Go to Mapsource and click "Transfer" -> "Receive from device". It takes 4-5 seconds for the device to be recognised and then you can transfer the tracks to the PC.
