Hi, I am trying to load maps onto my 60csx. I have topo US 24k and the mapsource software that the gps came with. I opened up topo us (basecamp.exe) and plugged my gps in via usb. it is found by my computer. but when i right click it and do "install maps", it gives me this message "The mapset is approximately 30 MB but only 942 MB is available in the destination. Please select fewer maps and try again." i also tried doing it through mapsource instead of basecamp.exe and i get the same message.

I opened basecamp.exe, right clicked my device and hit "install maps" then I just tried to put one random pre-made quad map and that was the message i got. i didn't touch the map at all. also, i turned on my gps and set it to "Usb mass storage" to ensure that data was being sent to the sd card and not the internal memory, but i get the same freakin' message!

any ideas? i've looked all over and googled the message but nothing. i emailed garmin but have yet to hear back. if nothing else i guess i can call them after the holiday weekend but i was hoping to use it for my trip tomorrow : \

thanks again for any help.

p.s. i also tried reformatting my sd card (fat 32) and that didn't help, either

Do you know what software version you have loaded to the 60Csx unit? I haven't heard of this being an issue. How many map sections are you trying to send to the device? Putting the device in a mass storage wouldn't effect anything since the device doesn't have any internal memory.

When in Mapsource the Maps tab on the left hand side will give you the total amount of memory you are going to eat up in the device. What is the total memory it will be using?

These are just a few ideas, Once I find out more I'll see if I can resolve this if not please let me know what Garmin suggests.
