I have the latest nuvi 3790t with latest firmware and an iphone 3gs with latest updates. I use the nuvi voice command to gain a hands free ability. The bluetooth connection with the nuvi works on manual dialing of the phone and will receive all incoming calls, but fails when using the voice command option on the nuvi. The voice command works and the phone number rings but makes an 'electronic stutter' noise when answered. No other sounds are audible. However, the same 'voice command'action on the nuvi works on my older nokia and my wife's blackberry. Any suggestions?
I just bought a Garmin 3790 and I have exactly the same problem with my iphone. If it matters, it's also a model 3GS. I also tried to make an outgoing phone call using the traditional method of touching the screen and it worked.
I have a similar problem with my Samsung Omnia. Using voice command all I hear from the speaker is a deathly silence whilst the screen indicates a connected call . Everything works fine when not using Voice Command and now with the latest S/W update I even get missed calls and last dialed numbers. Making phone calls completely hands free is great but is a bit useless when you can't hear who you are talking to.
