Garmin 265W contantly asks for passkey, even with paired device

My Garmin 265W now often asks for a passkey on power-up when connecting via bluetooth to my Nokia E71, even though they are paired and authorised. (It used not to do this.)

How can this passkey request be disabled?

I have tried deleting the pairing and then recreating it, but no improvement. I have updated the 265W to the current software, but no improvement.

Running out of ideas.

I have a Nuvi 265W and a 255T and both of these do this as well. I find it very frustrating as my older 680 never did this. I have 2 phones linked to each (one nuvi for each car and 1 phone for each driver). There must be a quick fix for this as I cannot believe that this is a feature.
