3790T losing maps backround when driving

Hello

After around 5 hours I loose all backround maps, only the driving way is on the screen and so I need to switch off/on to have the maps again. It must be something wrong with the firmware last one 2.50

I've found in \.System\Diag\Shutdowns some logs when the crash arrived

I have a similar RTL Trap error : RTL Information Line:
Out of memory, r0=not useful, r1=rtrn, r2=blk sz requested

but the behaviour is different - it just reset itself (shutdown then power back on) once every minute. No background lost, just plain reset...

I have a nuvi 3760T and this happens on both softwares 2.20 and 2.50 ... and I hope the unit is not defective as until yesterday it worked perfectly (that is almost a whole month since I bought it).

I am not sure what you are describing. Do you mean your map screen goes blank I.e. the map screen goes totally white? If so, this behavior is a software/firmware problem. Usually the data part of the screen (speed, estimated time of arrival, elevation, etc.) continues to display. Also voice directions continue to work. If you have a 37XX series with voice command that functionality also continues to work. Turning the unit off (not to sleep) waiting about a minute and then turning it back on usually fixes the problem. But, it can unexpectedly return at a later date. On Feb. 15, 2011 a software/firmware update was issued (I believe it was v3.9 but don't quote me on that). This update is suppose to fix this problem...if indeed that was the problem you were describing! Good luck with the update!
