Waypoint Management - Oregon 550

I have a simple question. I have about 75 waypoints on my gps numbered 001-075. These waypoints are in geographical order. Under the waypoint manager on the gps they are not in numerical order. How do I get them in numerical order (also the geographical order) in the waypoint manager?

So this is what I tried. I downloaded all the waypoints from the gps to Base camp and clicked sort by name. This put the waypoints in order the way that I wanted them (001-075). Then I deleted all waypoints and track from my gps and transfered the data from Base camp back to the gps. The waypoints in the gps are all out of order again!!!

Any help?? Anyone???
