Is the 1490T a problem for others?

I am on my third 1490T from Costco (and they always replace it with no argument), but this is getting old.

First one died within a month. Costco replaced.
Second one bricked after the manditory Firmware update. Costco Replaced.

Now this one is acting up!

Speaker works half the time, it sometimes will not power on. Looses connectivity with the ecoRoute.

Running software 4.40.

I see 4.50 is out there now, but if it doesn't fix it, it's back to Costco again.

Is it just me? I have an old Nuvi 360 that must be over 5 years old and it still works fine. I like the 1490T for the larger screen and speaker. I can't hear the speaker well enough on the 360 anymore.

Is there another model I should be considering? I hate to chuck the nice leather case that fits this, but at this point I'm really frustrated.

Glad I never purchased the lifetime maps like I did for my 360.

Just an update

The 4.50 software didn't change anything, so I had the unit replaced. Will test it out this week.

I did read somewhere that the ecoRoute was causing others to have the same problems with the speaker/sound stopping.

I'll report back my findings.

The speaker problem is quite common. Garmin already replaced one of my units because of that (and I'm waiting for a reply for my new one).

The firware updates don't seem to help at all unfortunately :-\

The 1490T is plagues with many problems. For me traffic rarely works and I am in the peak of Navteq coverage. Two units have had major traffic problems. Garmins idea is for me to pay to ship the unit back, no way. You sell me garbage, you pay. I will be taking this one back to costco. Garmin can lose on the unit being sold as refurbished.
