I have created a route in Mapsource and uploaded it to my Garmin Dakota 20. The distance of the route was about 13 km.
After completing the hike the Dakota device indicated a total distance of only 10 km. After downloading the track to my computer Mapsource indicated a track distance of 12.5 km (which is a plausible value).
What is the explanation of the difference between the Mapsource value and the Dakota value?
