Issues with the oregon 550

I appologize in advance if this is already posted as a topic on here but I wasn't able to find it. I have a brand new Oregon 550 and I'm running OSX Snow Leopard. I have the latest version of garmin communicator for both safari and firefox. When I attempt to upload data from my gps to garmin connect, it would only show the latest track from when i had the garmin on last (usually a 2-4ft track). I went into basecamp and deleted the "current tracks" and turned the automatic track feature off and now when i connect to garmin connect it simply hangs up and crashes my browsers. is this a known issue? is there a solution? Thanks in advance!
