Activities: Why does it default to Charlotte?

Hi Guys,

Just purchased my Forerunner 310XT and am very happy with it. Furthermore, Garmin Connect works great, except for a few items that are somewhat annoying:

- Firstly, why does the map always default to Charlotte. I want to make it default to where I live (seems obvious, I must be missing something).
- Secondly, another blatantly missing feature is for me to be able to capture a list of my 'friends' so that the Activities view automatically filters to what they are doing (I am not interested in the default view of 'what is anyone, whom I don't even know doing')

Are these things that other people have also noticed?

Cheers
Olaf

I assume that you are referring to the explore view. It doesn't always default to Charlotte. Default cities are rotated periodically. However, I agree that the user should be able to change this.

Another good feature. Currently there is a FB app called MyMotionBased that does something very similar. Nothing built into Garmin Connect yet.

    Thanks for the response.

I noticed another quirky feature on the 'Explore' function. I scroll the map to the location that I want (so that I can see some exercise details for some of my friends). Then I click on one of those events to see the details. Thereupon, if I click back (on my browser) to get to the previous page, I am back in Charlotte again (and have to re-scroll the map all over).

I really hope this gets tweaked, right now I find the 'Explore' functionality a bit painful - and all the building blocks are there, it just needs a few tweaks to make it work well.
