Importing GPX file as course to 705

I downloaded a gpx file from the net to my Garmin 705 Courses folder. I can see the gpx file in the folder ok when it's connected to my pc, but the course does not appear as a course on my 705 device. Can someone help?

You copy a gpx file to the GPX folder on the devices and then you will see it under saved rides.

Or you can copy a tcx file to the Courses folder on the device. You then need to go to menu->Training->Courses to see the course.
