GPSMAP62S - waypoint - can't delete?? Software?

I found this SAME issue reported on another forum.
So i know it's not just me.
Again it was a 62S.

Well a whole day has gone by without a reply.
It's an easy thing for any Garmin tech to check - things that make a consumer go "hmmmm". Perhaps this is not what the forums are intended for?

Issue is now sorted out.

First it was suggested to do a master reset:
I would recommend doing a master reset on your unit.

**This will erase all user data. Please back up your information before
doing the reset**

With the unit off, press and hold these 3 buttons for 5 seconds.
Enter + Page + Power
You will see a screen that says “Do you really want to erase all user
data?”
Say yes
If successful all user data will be erased.

Then reload the data.

Then came the prompting that i was in the wrong place.
I was in the main waypoint manager folder where you see all the waypoints.
I thought highlighting one and hitting menu should bring up the delete option.
Not so. Instead these are the directions:

If you would like to delete a specific waypoint, then please go to Main
Menu > Waypoint Manager > Select the Waypoint that you would like to
delete > Press Enter. Once you are on the selected waypoint page, then
please Menu. You will see an option to delete just this one waypoint.

So the difference is you are WITHIN the attributes page and then you hit menu. I write this in case someone else comes from a software organizational perspective (OOP) like me.

To delete waypoints from the device please follows the steps below.

1. Power the device on and hit the menu button twice to reach the main menu.
2. Scroll down and hit enter on “Waypoint Mgr.”
3. Select the waypoint you wish to delete and hit enter on it.

From this point you can hit the menu button once and get a list of option you can do with the device. The top option will be to delete the waypoint. This will not delete all the waypoints.


Hope this helps.

Instead of clicking menu on a highlighted waypoint, click enter. You will get that waypoints specific page. Now click menu and you should get various options includung a delete option for that specific waypoint.
