Dakota 20 Go To not following roads

Former Member

Hopefully, I am posting in the right forum.
My Dakota 20 insist on showing my Go To path as line-of-sight or as the crows fly, rather than following the path of the road that I am driving. Its a straight line from A to B. Annoying to say the least. I've been through the setup and scanned the manual. changed user profiles, map orientation etc. I downloaded map NT2011.20 to no avail. Any help, guidance, or suggestions would certainly be appreciated.

Thanks

Have you downloaded your routable maps using Mapsource? If so did you put a check mark at the bottom left corner of the screen to sent the routing data?

When it gives you navigation as the crow flies, press on the X, then on WHERE TO, and now pick the RECALCULATE ON ROAD option.

    Bingo!
the Recalculate On Road did the trick. I downloaded my map directly from Garmin via my CP and did not yet have a copy of Mapsource, however, I will download it shortly.

Thank you SARLABS, for a quick response and a positive fix. I certainly appreciate it.
