When creating a route using MapSource and then sending the route to my Vista HCx, I often notice that some of the route via point names and coordinates transferred to the GPS unit do not match the route via point names (and coordinates) that are in the MapSource route that's still in my pc. I notice this immediately upon transmission of the route (before selecting navigation on my GPS unit), by just viewing the route via points in the GPS unit.
I can send the same route to my GPS unit using GPSBabel, and this fixes my problem (my GPS units via point names and coordinates always match what was in my MapSource route when using GPSBabel to transmit the MapSource route to my Vista HCx).
Has anyone else noticed this problem? I suspect most people never look at their route via points in their GPS unit, they just hit navigate, but having incorrect via point names and coordinates can really mess up your intended route.
Garmin is currently looking into this problem for me, and they were able to duplicate the problem when I sent them one of my MapSource routes, but wonder if anyone else has has noticed this problem too?
I am currently using the most up to date MapSource (6.16.2), most up to date North America NT (2011.2), and most up to date firmware in my Vista HCx (3.30).
