I would certainly appreciate any help. When I attempt to "receive" tracks from my III+ into Topo USA, it times out with a " error receiving track from device". I have my III+ set with format="garmin" and transfer mode =host. I have the Topo USA exchange wizard set at device type = gps (device=garmin; settings= 9600,8,N,1; comport 5 and 20 waypoints per route). On the exchange wizard, I'm selecting "receive from device"; object type=track and save as "user map data". On the second page of the exchange wizard, I have a source = all tracks on device and a new track file with a name of "test". I've had my old gps for years and would like to revitalize it. I ordered serial to USB cable (with drivers) from rnrplace.com. Everything appeared to install okay. The setup does download from 1 to 9 percent of my tracks then stops. I have 1954 "packets" on the GPS. Could this be too many?
