topo layer for google maps

For off-road activities (hiking, mountain biking, skiing, paddling), it would be helpful to have a topo map layer on the Google activity map. Competitive sites (trimbleoutdoors.com gpsvisualizer.com) offer a topo map layer.

It takes only a few lines of Javascript to add the MyTopo map layer.

:( Sadly, garmin connect has switched to Bing maps. I was pushing to add topo layer to google maps to enhance Google terrain option. But now with bing there is no topo/terrain option.

Off-road GPS trail users (hikers, boaters, runners, skiiers ...) may want to try trimbleoutdoors.com, sportstracks.com, runningahead.com, crankfire.com, and many others that offer topo maps
