Hi all, can anybody please shed any light on this problem? I have purchased 75 Garmin Nuvi 1340 units and I am having problems with a large number of these units switching themselves off for no apparent reason.
This happens quite often when you are putting in destination details. The unit switches off and restarts immediately, taking you through the whole startup process again. You then have to re-enter destination details all over again.
I have just had a unit returned to me after reports that this had happened 6 times in two days. All units are using version 4.20 of the operating software which is reputed to have resolved this issue.
I am sure that this is not due to a charging issue as all battery indicators appear to have a reasonable charge. I understand that for some strange reason that the unit does not charge when it is switched on. If you are using this unit for extended periods during the day, how do you go about charging the unit without switching it off?
I am starting to question whether these units are in fact fit for purpose and I am getting increasingly frustrated as I have purchased such a large number of these.
Any help that you can offer would be appreciated.
