Yes, I have the same problem. Though a public user can click VIEW IN METRIC, even if I copy and share the URL after I click VIEW IN METRIC, the website still displays in statute. Thus, the third party user always has to click view in metric and most people can't see it.
How many times do we have to state the problem ? When sharing an activity to Facebook, the activity summary in the posting is in (medieval) US metrics, regardless of what the Garmin accounts settings say for the display units. So a german or french or italian athlete will have his activities displayed on facebook like this : 6.08 mi • 42:20 • 6:57 min/mi • 8.6 mph • 358 ft Only one value out of five is correct.
Unfortunately Garmin's ignorance to users is well known.. I am exporting tracks from garmin connect to sports tracker site because of these issues and share them from there.
I have just gone to upload a run to facebook and hey presto I'm here on this page not believing that you can't upload a run in METRIC UNITS. Dear Garmin I know you all live in the Statute States but over here in the UK we changed to metric 40 years ago, please update your site to reflect this, I thankyou ;-)
Having just spent a lot of money on this Garmin device...finding out that the backend systems don't support the measurements of the country I live in is rather disappointing.
Especially when it is such a simple fix.
