how do I export raw data?

Hi there, I have an FR60 which allows me to measure distance with the footpod. All works well, and the data goes into Garmin Connect no problems. However, I would like to export the data so that I can have raw data to be able to explore my 1km splits.

My questions are as follows
1. To do this, is it absolutely necessary that I have auto lap turned on for 1km, or does the raw data give me detailed enough data to be able to extract this?
2. Where abouts do I export the raw data??? Within an activity, I go into hit the share button, but no-where is there a raw export function, just links to various social networks

Any help would be much apprectiated!

cheers
  • Tcx files can be read by the recent versions of excel. It complains a bit when you open the file but the data gets there. You can then see all the recorded data points. Strictly speaking you don't need the splits as you can see in the data where you reach the 1k, 2k etc. points.
So from connect just export as tcx.
  • Can't find the export button

    Hello,

I don't seem to have an export button for my activities in Garmin connect.

In the activity details - I see Share Embed and Print as options. There is no Export button.

Can anyone suggest what is going wrong?

    Thanks
    Stephen

I also don't have an export button.

I see from the Help section where its supposed to be on the details page. But there is no Export button anywhere in the details page or anywhere else in my browser (Safari 5.0.1).

    Exporting From FR60

I had the Forerunner 50 for years and it finally died so I got the FR 60 and am having this same problem. I use a different training program and need this data to be exported in order for my coach to marry it up against other stuff we use. I don't have an export button where the help says it should be either. Please advise as to how to export data....using the Garmin Connect Interface for all my training isn't an option for me (as I imagine it probably isn't for many other Garmin users).

Could you post the link to your activity so that the rest of us can look at it? That might render some clues.

You can view the data for each split in Garmin Connect. Up above the map to the right are 3 buttons. Click "Splits"

I use "auto laps" on my garmin. I found that Garmin Training Center has a very cool option when you have made your own laps. You open a run and click on a lap and it shows just that lap on the map and a profile graph of just that lap with HR and Speed versus time or distance and in my case with gps I get Elevation too.

GTC also has another very nice function that GC does not have. It lists HR (time), HR (distance), Speed (time) and Speed (distance) for each Zone you establish in your profile. For example, I find it very useful to know how long I kept my HR in a particular Zone during a particular lap or the entire run.

GTC of course also has the same data list for each split like GC.

If you use Garmin Training Center you probably will not need to export your runs anywhere. It does much more than GC.

Oops! I didn't see that this post was 6 weeks old, sorry

This post above tells you where the ANT agent stores your tcx files. After 20-30 files it starts over writing the files so you should create a folder of your own and transfer the files from the hidden ANT folder to your folder for permanent storage.
