Garmin Connect Privacy setting

Hi all,

I wish to make my uploaded runs private by default, and the Dashboard offers the following "Quick Tip":

If you don’t want your Garmin Connect activities viewed publicly, change your default privacy setting to “private”. Click the Settings tab, select Default Privacy, and then select Private. This change will affect only future activity uploads.

I follow these instructions, and the following message appears:

You successfully updated your Default Privacy

Sounds good, however if I change to another Settings tab, or go anywhere else on the site and then come back I find that the privacy setting is back at "Public" :confused:

I also found the following instructions in the FAQ:

1. Select Settings.
2. Select Privacy.
3. Choose between Public and Private.
4. Click Update All.

I can't find the "Update All" button anywhere.

If anyone can assist in making this settings change stick I would be very grateful.

Thank you, this tip was very useful.

However, do you know of a way to "Select All" of your loaded activities and make them private? I just joined Garmin Connect, and had all of my activities from the past year uploaded (public). Just about all of them start/end from my house. Now I'd like to make them all private, but I have to click the padlock for each activity...

Hi! Did anyone ever find a way to select all the old activities and change the privacy settings at once instead of having to manually change each one at a time?

I've written a python script that can do this for you. If you're willing to install python-2.7.6 (or get access to it), I'd be happy to provide my script to you directly.

Privacy settings

Have you heard anything back about the privacy settings? I have the opposite problem. My settings are for only me and every time I try to make my activities public it reverts back to private.
