Activity and Event Types - may we modify?

At a minimum, I'd like to add "tandem" to the bicycle category of Activity types. But really - why can't we modify these for our own needs? I'd like to create my own event types so I can categorize my rides more finely.

I would like to be able to keep track of my martial arts classes on this site as well.

They have categories for flying and driving -- would it really be that hard to add an "other" which is user defined?

Yes, with all the specific bicycle items (recumbent?) I don't understand why it doesn't include (or won't let me add) my most common one: tandem cycling.
