Support Maps for Manually uploaded activities

gmap-pedometer (and possbily other services) allow one to manually draw a route and save the route... for example:

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3578018

It is also possible to export this as a GPX file.

It would be nice if connect.garmin.com would support a similar feature when uploading manual activities.
The following could be considered
- uploading a GPX file for the map
- providing the link to a gmap-pedometer or other source where the map is saved
- drawing the route in the upload page of connect.garmin.com directly

The distance could be calculated based on the route drawn, the time taken would still obviously have to be added manually etc.
  • gpsies.com

delivers the same, it would be great if you could add this. For example, I forgot my Forerunner today, but still went out and rode the bike for 2 hours. I have all the important data like speed (avg/top), heart rate (avg/top), cadence (avg/top), height and temp from my Polar. Just let me add a map and my manual activity is complete.

BTW, I see a lot of interesting threads here, but never a reply from Garmin people. Why is this?

Please, if you get an answer to yout thread, inform me. That would be nice. Thanks!
  • I've never seen Garmin respond either, nor implement things coming from here.  It would be nice if they would acknowledge some of the great ideas put forward here.
