nuvi 1350T will not boot past the LOGO

When I turn on my nuvi 1350T the GARMIN logo comes on then goes off then on then off..... and this is a far as it gets. I have tried soft and hard resets, neither of these would work. If I hook it up to my computer it does not show up on the directory. The unit is only 2 weeks old. Is it dead or what?
  • I have the Nuvi 1350 and it started doing the same thing yesterday. I had just updated the firmware and maps three days ago and it was working perfectly until this. Nothing I do will bring it back to life.

I have a report filed with Garmin support. I don't expect to here from them until Tuesday. Looks like it will be an RMA. I will post what they say.
  • 1490 same problem

I have had my 1490 for a month, bought the Europe maps, go to Ireland - it worked for half a day and now will only boots to the logo and then reboots. what a waste of $ & £

my 1390T was a b'day present from my daughter on 6/10. worked great but now will not boot past the Garmin logo page. This happened a couple days after I updated the freebie map. Currently corresponding with tech support. i will post if I find a solution.

I have a 1490T with the same symptoms. Powers up to the Garmin screen but no further. Cannot connect with USB.

Headed back for warranty repair but I wish there was some indication as to a solution

Same issue, worked for roughly 3 days and now is useless for navigation. Unfortunately we are 900 miles away on vacation and will need to dig out the paper maps. Hopefully someones posts a solution, but it looks like it will be going back for repairs :(:(

I have a Garmin 1390T that decided to not go past the re-boot splash page as well. Unfortunately I was en-route from Ft Lauderdale to Key West when it happened. Luckily I was already on US 1 and I happened to have a spare nuvi 660 with me. My dad was driving to Key West from NY and his 1390t decided to "endless reboot" as well. When I got to Key West I was on the phone with 2 different tech support agents. The first one told me she would email me some info on re-booting. Never got that email. The next day I called back and spoke to a nice tech support agent who said "this is a known software issue" and the only thing he could do for me was give me a return authorization number and address. I came home and exchanged it since I purchased the extended warranty. I got the same unit since I like the features of this one. I am NOT updating the software or maps until I hear something different from Garmin. Wasn't there a similar issue last year with the 765t??
  • Ok guys, in another thread I found this solution. It worked for me.

My 1350T was hanging on start (Loader Loading...). With the unit OFF, hold your right thumb on the Upper, Left part of the screen and plug the USB plug from your computer into the back of your GPS. The unit should boot up and stop at the screen where it shows a little computer, wire, and little GPS. Your computer should now show the GPS as connected. Only now you can pull your thumb from the screen.

I then used Webupdater to upload 4.40 to my 1350T. I'm back in business without the hassel of shipping my unit to Garmin. By the way, they sent me an email with directions to hold the WRONG part of the screen (lower, right); of course it didn't work. At least with my 1350T, you hold the upper, left!!!

    Good luck
