The calorie burn chart for the activity on Garmin Connect has a bug (missing label translation). Instead of displaying the correct names, the platform shows internal system code strings:

  • non_pack_calories_chart_label (Gray)

  • pack_calories_chart_label (Red)

  • I opened a support case with Garmin a few weeks ago about this issue. For me, it happens using an Epix (Gen 2).

    Garmin Support:

Thank you for your response on this and for uploading those logs. I replicated on a pro model but not on other devices so it must be an epix pro gen 2 or epix gen 2 related issue. That case is now created and I will update you once the team gives me any updates or requests further information. We should be all set with the data we have now.

I don't have an estimated timeline since it's software related but since it can be reproduced, the team should be able to test until resolved. This means it may take time before I next reach out to you, but if you have any questions you can also reach back out to me.

Subject: Garmin Connect Web – Walking Activity Calorie Labels Showing Raw Localization Keys
    Sent: Tue, 4 Aug 2026 20:26:57 +0000

    Hi Garmin Support,

I’m reporting an issue in Garmin Connect Web that affects Walking activities starting June 1, 2026.

    Issue:
The calorie chart legend, tooltip, and Help popup show raw internal strings instead of normal text:

        pack_calories_chart_label
        non_pack_calories_chart_label
        pack_calories_help_para_1, etc.

This only happens for Walking activities. Running, Hiking, Cycling, and older Walking activities do not show the problem.

This occurs in Garmin Connect Web only. The mobile app displays correctly.

How to reproduce: Open any Walking activity dated June 1, 2026 or later. View the calorie chart legend/tooltip. Click the Help icon. Raw localization keys appear. Browsers tested: Edge, Chrome, Firefox (cache cleared). Issue persists.

Garmin device: Epix Gen 2, Software version 26.09

I've submitted 3 screenshots showing the issue through your secure upload site.

  • thank you. I have the seam device: Epix Gen 2 PRO!

  • It appears that this issue has now been resolved, likely coinciding with the release of the Fenix 9, the addition of rucking features, and updates to Garmin Connect Web.
