How is it that a GPS watch can't be located from your phone ??

When you lose your GPS watch and you can't locate it without it being connected to your phone that's pretty ridiculous, considering you can locate other things easily such as airpods for example ,

How is this not possible for a Garmin watch

Don't think I'll be buying another one

  • This isn’t just Garmin. It’s how almost all smartwatch manufacturers work. They don’t broadcast their location on their own, and that’s the main difference. AirPods, Tiles, and similar trackers use a network of nearby phones to anonymously relay their position. Smartwatches don’t participate in that kind of always‑on, crowdsourced location reporting. And the GPS on the watch doesn’t help with "finding" it. GPS only tells the watch where it is, not your phone.
