Nuvi 270 turns off with cable and SD card inserted

Greetings,
I installed maps onto an SDHC card (not enough room on the Nuvi's memory). I notice that when the Nuvi is plugged into my PC with a cable, and the SDHC card is inserted into the Nuvi, the Nuvi will start to come on, but immediately turn itself off. The Nuvi was checked out remotely by the Garmin Software Team. Did a system reset and all checked out fine. I tried another cable and a different PC but it did not make a difference.

I did notice that if I plug the Nuvi to the PC with the cable, without the SDHC card inserted, the Nuvi boots up fine. Then, if I insert the card, the Nuvi does not turn itself off and both the Nuvi and the card appear fine in MyComputer.

I'd like to know if this is 'normal' or if the Nuvi should boot up fine regardless if the SDHC card is inserted or not.
Thanks... goddi

It has been a while. But I think this just a 'normal' bug that is going on. I had to inform them and they just agreed. Anyway, I had other problems with my Nuvi 270 and got another model, Nuvi 2475. Got it at a discount through Garmin ($50) because they could not figure out what the new problem was with the Nuvi 270. Garmin has a big problem when trying to use their download process for map updates. It never works the first, second or third time... So if you still have your Nuvi 270, just remember to take out the SD card first before connecting it to the PC.
