Weird Garmin Connect Email

I'm pretty sure I'm asking this question in the wrong forum...but Garmin being Garmin, it's not clear which forum would be the correct one to use (nor is their online help system of any use, either). Please bear with me.

The other day I received an email telling me that my connect data was going to be deleted because I'd opted out of "...allowing Garmin ConnectTm to store and process your health and fitness data".

So far as I know, I've never shared health or fitness data from my inReach Mini. In fact, I don't think it records such information.

So, can I ignore the email?

What concerns me is I do have a lot of track/route information stored (somewhere) on the Garmin servers. I don't want to lose that!

  • Health & Fitness data includes also your tracks you recorded with that device. If you want to keep the tracks, you have to keep the data storage enabled. However, if you have already disabled the storage a few days ago, the data is quite probably already removed from the server. The tracks may be still available on your device, though (or at least some of them), so if you reenable the data storage, you can reimport them back to Connect manually.
