eTrex Vista HCx uploads to many activities

When I get back from hiking or geocaching and hook up my eTrex Vista HCx to Garmin connect it uploads dozens of "activities", most of them bogus, events lasting only a few seconds or minutes. I delete them but they keep coming back.

How do I make sure I upload only my "real" activities?

Im having the same problem, mainly when the unit shuts off it creates a new activity even though it's only one track log. They have to either give you the option to upload as one, or to merge the activities on the site.

One thing to do is delete those bogus 'events' from your GPS.
Here is what I do with my eTrex Vista HCx
1- Go out for a ride on my bike or a drive on my car that I want measured.
2- Back home I connect to my MacBook Pro and download from GPS.
3- I name the "active logs" with useful names and delete all logs that have no meaningful data.
4- I name any new waypoints I want to keep and delete those that I do not.
5- I delete all data from GPS.
6- I upload from Mac to Vista.

This way I always have what I want, need, use on my GPS and waste less time when making a new download.

    Hope this helps
